FAQ

OK, wait. What is the Galahads exactly?
The Galahads are a bunch of generous, courageous, powerful, kick-ass women who band together through online masterminding, networking, training and adventure and support each other in our quests to fulfill our life dreams. Join us! You can find out more about the benefits of becoming a Galahad here.

Why only women? Why not guys too?
Don’t get us wrong – we are NOT anti-men (we love them)! But we believe that women are not represented as equally as they could be (in many areas of life and business) and if we get together and help each other we can help things get better. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, there are 187 million women running businesses around the world. That’s a good story—yet the media focus is pretty gender unbalanced. Hey… men have had masterminds, secret societies and exclusive organizations throughout history and it seems to have served them pretty well. Worldwide, the creation rate of women’s entrepreneurship is much lower than men. It has been found that women tend to find support for business from family and friends, rather than from other experienced and successful women entrepreneurs. industry. Men figured out a long time ago that mastermind and networking can massively accelerate growth and success rates.

What’s with the Knight – isn’t that a male thing? Why would you use a male organization to represent women?
The selection of the archetypical male organizing metaphor of knighthood was extremely intentional. The knight is an instantly recognizable symbol for strength, power and generosity but traditionally very solidly male. In the myth of Camelot females always played a supporting role in the background as maidens who need to be protected or rescued. By flipping this myth – and casting the women in the role as the knight without denying her femininity, we clearly establish that (today) a role reversal is possible (and even needed) and grant the Galahad’s with an instantly empowering assumable identity. The name Galahads was also intentional, as Sir Galahad was the knight who achieved the ultimate by succeeding in his quest for the Holy Grail. This ultimate achievement is what we are pushing for every Galahad (and truly every woman) to experience. The name also lends itself nicely to an ironic wink by calling out the letters “GAL”. Who says women couldn’t have had the same achievements were they granted those opportunities during the period of history that the Arthurian Legends were created?

Quite aside from all of the logical background we love the playfulness of the Camelot theme. Using the language of Camelot (roundtables, quests, jousts, etc…) was intended to give the Galahads a specific (“secret”) language to describe the adventure that is a Galahad membership. If you want to find out more about this language and its specific use within our organization, check out our Glossary where everything is clearly explained so you can benefit from the best possible experience. The imagery of the logo and the use of the words “kick-ass” and “secret society” are all playful, tongue-in-cheek, references to the typical, stuffy, old-fashioned male organizations of the past (e.g.: The Masons). We want to attract a very specific kind of results focused woman who can understand the power and advantage of belonging to a “sisterhood” of women just like them.
